Houndour, known as デルビル (Derubiru) in Japanese, is a dual-type Dark/Fire Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is typically depicted as a black, canine-like creature with a red underbelly and muzzle, white rings around its legs, rib-like ridges on its back, and a stylized skull pattern on its forehead. Houndour live in packs, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, communicating through barks to coordinate their hunts. They are known to howl at dawn to mark their territory and are fiercely loyal to their pack, never abandoning a wounded member. Houndour evolves into Houndoom starting at level 24. Houndour has made numerous appearances in the anime, manga, and video games, showcasing its diverse abilities and personalities. Its design is possibly inspired by hellhounds, black dogs, and animals like the Doberman Pinscher and Tasmanian wolf.
