Houndoom

Houndoom, known in Japanese as Herugaa (ヘルガー), is a dual-type Dark/Fire Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Houndour starting at level 24. Houndoom is a canine-like Pokémon with a black body, brown underbelly and snout, white bone-like bands around its ankles, rib-like structures on its back, and a skull pendant around its neck. It has curved horns atop its head, with the female's horns being smaller than the male's. Houndoom lives in packs and determines its leader through fights, with the one whose horns are raked sharply back usually taking the lead. Legends say that Houndoom’s flames contain toxins, and burns from them are difficult to heal. Its howls are considered eerie and were thought to be the call of the grim reaper in the past. Houndoom can Mega Evolve into Mega Houndoom, which has a thicker bone structure on its back, additional bone rings at the base of its tail, a larger, toothed structure around its neck, and longer, straighter horns. Mega Houndoom generates heat throughout its body and has flames powerful enough to incinerate foes. Houndoom is a popular Pokémon featured in anime, manga, and games.
