Hitmontop, known as Kapoerer (カポエラー) in Japanese, is a Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Tyrogue starting at level 20 when Tyrogue's Attack and Defense stats are equal. Hitmontop is famous for its unique upside-down fighting style, using its horn on its head as an axis for high-speed spinning while delivering graceful kicks. This spinning is both an offensive and defensive tactic, where centrifugal force enhances the power of its kicks. Hitmontop is adept at using dance-like motions to confuse opponents before suddenly launching attacks. Its inner ear is highly developed, allowing it to spin without getting dizzy. Hitmontop is also the only Pokémon that can learn the move Triple Kick. Its design is inspired by spinning tops, Capoeira dancers, and acrobats. Its Japanese name "カポエラー" directly derives from "capoeira."
