Larvitar, known as ヨーギラス (Yogiras) in Japanese, is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is a small, olive green reptilian Pokémon with rock-hard skin. It has a blunt spike protruding from its head, and its body is covered in a green armor with a few diamond-shaped holes. It also has a red diamond-shaped chest plate, unlike its evolutions. Larvitar's eyes are black pupils with red irises, surrounded by black markings, and it has a conical tail. Larvitar typically feeds on soil, even consuming entire mountains in order to evolve into Pupitar. It is born deep underground, and it needs to eat its way through the surrounding earth to reach the surface and see its parents. In the anime, Ash once had a Larvitar that hatched from an egg. In the Pokémon games, Larvitar evolves into Pupitar at level 30, and then into Tyranitar at level 55.
