Pupitar (Japanese: サナギラス, Sanagiras) is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Larvitar starting at level 30 and evolves into Tyranitar starting at level 55. Pupitar is encased in a thick, grayish-blue shell with a hardness comparable to bedrock. Its red eyes are visible through two holes in the shell, and two more openings above them resemble eyebrows. Pupitar uses compressed gas within its body to propel itself around, generating enough force to topple mountains. Despite its appearance, it is powerful, possessing a hard shell that can withstand impacts from steel. It inhabits harsh mountain ranges, awaiting its final evolution into Tyranitar.
