Ho-Oh (Japanese: ホウオウ Houou) is a dual-type Fire/Flying Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is often regarded as the counterpart to Lugia and the leader of the Legendary beasts (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune). Ho-Oh resembles a phoenix with a predominantly gold and red body, yellow tail-feathers, a white underside, and green feathers at the tips of its wings. It has a green stripe on its neck, a yellow beak, black rings around its red eyes, and a feathered yellow crest on its head. Ho-Oh's wings are prismatic, causing it to trail a rainbow. It is said to grant eternal happiness to those who witness it. Ho-Oh possesses the mythical power to resurrect the dead and uses the powerful Fire-type move 'Sacred Fire'. It is closely associated with the Bell Tower and the Burned Tower, and is considered the guardian of the skies.
