Taillow

Taillow (Japanese: スバメ Subame) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It resembles a small swallow with dark blue feathers, a red marking from its chest to its forehead, and a white underside. It has brown eyes, a short yellow beak, elongated wingtips, black feet with yellow talons, and a tail consisting of two sharp feathers. Taillow is very brave, standing up to powerful opponents without backing down. In cold seasons, it flies over 180 miles (300 kilometers) daily in search of warmer climates. It primarily hunts Wurmple but has also been shown eating crops in the anime. It weakens and cries loudly when hungry. Taillow evolves into Swellow starting at level 22. In the anime, Taillow was Ash's first Pokémon catch in the Hoenn region, later evolving into Swellow during a competition. Taillow has appeared in various other episodes, including one caught by Goh to help him catch Wurmple, and also as a Pokémon owned by other characters. Taillow has also appeared in manga and video games, highlighting its significant role in the Pokémon series.
