Masquerain, known as Amemoth in Japanese, is a dual-type Bug/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves from Surskit starting at level 22. This Pokémon is a popular character in the globally recognized franchise, Pokémon (also known as Pocket Monsters). Masquerain is characterized by its two pairs of rhombus-shaped wings, which enable it to hover and fly in any direction, similar to a helicopter. Its head features large, eye-like antennae that are used to intimidate foes. These antennae have white lines resembling eyelashes, and a dark pink dot representing a pupil. Despite its flying abilities, Masquerain cannot fly when its wings are wet. It typically resides near the water's edge and takes shelter under trees or eaves when it rains. Masquerain's English name is derived from "masquerade" and "rain", while its Japanese name combines "rain" and "moth". It has appeared in the anime, manga, and various video games, with varying Pokédex entries across regions.
