Lairon (Japanese: コドラ Kodora) is a dual-type Steel/Rock Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves from Aron and evolves into Aggron. Lairon has a hard armor shell with a dark gray body and sky blue eyes. Its back is covered with iron armor segments, and it has sharp protrusions on the sides of its lower jaw, with two teeth visible in its mouth. There are metal bands on its legs, the upper one being gray and the lower one being iron-colored. Lairon feeds on iron ore and will often engage in head-butting battles for territory, leaving dents and scratches on its armor. It nests near mineral-rich springs, drinking the water to fortify its armor. Lairon has appeared multiple times in the anime, showcasing its unique personality and power. In the games, Lairon has the abilities Rock Head and Sturdy, and its evolution into Aggron greatly increases its battle prowess. Lairon is inspired by the Korean mythological monster Bulgasari, which eats iron.
