Electrike (Japanese: ラクライ Rakurai) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It resembles a canine with a green body and yellow markings. It has a large head crest with angular, lightning-like markings on the side. Its snout has a yellow blaze, and four fangs are visible when its mouth is open. It has a yellow stripe down its back. Each of its four legs has a spike, with the ones on its hind legs being longer. It has yellow crescent-shaped paw pads on its front feet, while the pads on its hind feet are circular. It has a small, pointed, yellow-tipped tail.
Electrike generates electricity using friction from the atmosphere, storing it in its fur. In dry weather, its body can ignite and throw off sparks. It typically lives in grasslands and savannas, near power plants. It is extremely fast, capable of running at speeds that are too fast for the human eye to follow. Because its fur can store electricity, grooming it with metal brushes can lead to shocks. Electrike evolves into Manectric at level 26. It made its anime debut in the episode "Watt's with Wattson?". It can be found in the games Pokémon Sword/Shield and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Electrike's design may be inspired by the Raijū, a Japanese mythological creature, an elemental lightning beast that often takes the form of a mammal, commonly a wolf.
