Volbeat

Volbeat, also known as the Firefly Pokémon, is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It is the male counterpart to Illumise. Volbeat resembles a firefly and is bipedal, with a predominantly black body, blue chest, and abdomen, and two yellow stripes on its front. There are red bands separating its limbs from its body, and a thicker red band around its shoulders. It has two simple wings, a blue face, yellow eyes, and curly yellow antennae with black stripes. Its spherical yellow tail glows to communicate and draw geometric patterns in the sky while in a swarm. Volbeat does not evolve and inhabits forests near clean ponds. At night, they communicate by adjusting the intensity and flashing of their tail lights. They are attracted to the sweet aroma of Illumise. In games, Volbeat has the abilities Illuminate, Swarm and the hidden ability Prankster. Volbeat has appeared in the anime, sometimes performing light shows with Illumise or competing in Pokémon contests.
