Spinda (Japanese: パッチール, Patcheel) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It is a bipedal Pokémon resembling a panda with rabbit-like features. Its most notable characteristic is its eyes, which are black spirals that point in opposite directions, with similar swirling patterns on its ears. Spinda has a cream-colored body with red arms, a red stripe along its belly, and two small spots on the soles of its feet. It has four spots that can appear anywhere on its face and ears, and a fifth spot on the back of its head. Each Spinda has a unique spot pattern, with the odds of two having the same pattern being less than one in four billion. It walks with a dizzying, swaying gait, giving the appearance of dancing, which confuses opponents, making it difficult for them to aim. Spinda lives in mountains, feeding on shoots and berries but has a strong aversion to Persim Berries. In the evening, groups of Spinda engage in wild, teetering dances until moonrise. This ritualistic dancing is thought to be a form of recreation, giving them an effect similar to hallucinogenic drugs.
