Cacturne, known as Nokutasu (ノクタス) in Japanese, is a dual-type Grass/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves from Cacnea starting at level 32 and can Mega Evolve into Mega Cacturne using the Cacturnite. Cacturne resembles a scarecrow made of cacti, with spikes covering its body, yellow eyes with black markings, and a mouth formed by black dots. Male and female Cacturne have different rhombus patterns on their chests. Cacturne is nocturnal, remaining still during the day to conserve moisture and hunting at night in packs, stalking travelers until they are exhausted. Cacturne's design is inspired by cacti, particularly the saguaro, and scarecrows, with its face resembling a jack-o'-lantern. Its nocturnal behavior relates to the fact that cacti fix carbon dioxide at night. It is said that living in harsh deserts has turned its blood into sand.
