Barboach (ドジョッチ) is a dual-type Water/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It resembles a loach, with a blue-gray body, a jagged black line running along its side, and blue barbels that function as sensory organs. Barboach inhabits muddy waters, often burying itself in the muck, leaving only its barbels exposed to detect prey. Its body is covered in a slimy mucus, which protects it from bacteria and helps it slip away from predators. Barboach evolves into Whiscash at level 30. Its barbels are highly sensitive, acting like radar to locate prey in murky water, and they can even sense taste and smell much like a human tongue. Barboach is known for its unique characteristics and habits and appears in various Pokémon games.
