Whiscash (ナマズン) is a dual-type Water/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves from Barboach starting at level 30. Whiscash resembles a large, dark blue catfish with a yellow underbelly. It has a large mouth with light blue lips, and short, thin whiskers growing from the lower lips. Long, yellow barbels extend from its cheeks, and there's a yellow 'W' marking on its forehead. Its light blue dorsal fin features three black spots in a triangle pattern, while the tail fin lacks spots. Whiscash inhabits swamps, where it quietly waits for prey. It's known for its strong territoriality, claiming entire ponds as its own. Whiscash is primarily nocturnal, burying itself in the mud during the day. It will consume anything alive, sometimes whole, and has been seen eating inanimate objects and mud. With poor eyesight, it relies on its whiskers to detect vibrations in the water. Whiscash can also sense subtle ground vibrations, allowing it to predict earthquakes. When threatened, it thrashes wildly, causing earthquakes that extend over three miles, and it's thought that seeing Whiscash leap from the water is an omen of an earthquake.
