Kecleon (Japanese: カクレオン, Kakureon) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It resembles a chameleon, primarily green with yellow accents and a red zigzag pattern on its belly. Kecleon's most notable ability is to change its body color to blend into its surroundings, effectively camouflaging itself to hunt prey or avoid predators. However, its red zigzag pattern remains unchanged. Kecleon inhabits tropical and temperate forests and uses its long, sticky tongue to catch prey. Its color also changes based on mood and health, darkening with better health. It possesses the abilities Color Change and Protean. Color Change alters Kecleon's type to match the type of the attack it receives, while Protean changes its type to match the type of the move it uses. Kecleon does not evolve and has no pre-evolutions. It is often featured as a shopkeeper in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.
