Shuppet, known as Kagebouzu in Japanese, is a Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. In the Pokémon series, it is typically depicted as a floating, puppet-like Pokémon with a dark gray body and a horn on its head. Shuppet has distinctive eyes with light-blue sclerae, dark-blue irises, and yellow pupils. Although its Pokédex color is originally described as black, it appears more blue. Shuppet is unique in that it feeds on negative emotions such as grudges, jealousy, and anger. It often gathers under the eaves of houses where people harbor resentments, and it ventures out at night in search of these negative feelings. Although Shuppet's behavior may seem intimidating, it actually acts out of loneliness, and can help people forgive others by consuming their grudges. In the games, Shuppet evolves into Banette at level 37. It also makes frequent appearances in the anime, manga, and trading card game.
