Bagon (Japanese: タツベイ, Tatsubay) is a Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It has a strong desire to fly, so it often hurls itself off cliffs, only to tumble to the bottom. These reckless dives have caused its head to become extremely hard, allowing it to perform headbutts without feeling recoil. Despite this, hikers sometimes find unconscious Bagon due to particularly hard falls. Bagon is small, lacks a tail, and has stubby arms, but its muscular body allows it to deliver powerful headbutts capable of shattering rocks. Its yearning to fly seems to be ingrained in its genes, leading to its persistent cliff-jumping attempts. Bagon evolves into Shelgon at level 30, and then into Salamence at level 50.
