Monferno, known as モウカザル in Japanese, is a Fire/Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It first appeared in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games as the evolution of Chimchar, and it ultimately evolves into Infernape. Monferno resembles an orange chimpanzee with a flame at the tip of its tail, similar to Charmander and its evolutions. It has beige coloring on its belly, hands, feet, mouth, and ears, along with blue and red markings on its face, small fangs, and a patch of red at the base of its tail. Monferno possesses a dual typing, utilizing both fire and fighting techniques in combat. It can control the size of the flame on its tail to intimidate opponents and also use its environment to leap off walls and ceilings to attack from unexpected angles. Within packs, Monferno’s rank is determined by the size of its tail flame and the brightness of the blue markings on its face. It evolves from Chimchar through leveling up and evolves into Infernape.
