Empoleon (Japanese: エンペルト Enperuto) is a Water/Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is the final evolution of Piplup, evolving from Prinplup starting at level 36. Empoleon resembles a large, navy blue penguin with orange webbed feet. Its wings are like metal flippers, edged with blue and featuring three small orange claws on the underside. It has a blue fin and tail on its back, and a prominent blue metal fin resembling a necktie extending from its chest. Empoleon’s beak has three pointed horns that form a trident-shaped crest, a symbol of strength. These Pokémon are proud and aggressive, using the blades on their wings to attack those who offend them. In ancient times in the Hisui region, it was revered as the "Master of the Waves." Empoleon's Water and Steel typing allows it to learn a variety of moves and move swiftly through the water, using its wings to cut through ice. It is considered one of the starter Pokémon of the Sinnoh region, beloved by trainers.
