Bibarel (Japanese: ビーダル Beadaru) is a dual-type Normal/Water Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It evolves from Bidoof starting at level 15. Bibarel is a bulky, bipedal Pokémon similar to a beaver, with brown fur, a tan bib-like pattern on its chest, and tan markings around its eyes. Male Bibarel have larger markings on the sides of their face than females. They are known to be industrious workers, building nests by damming rivers using bark, roots, and branches along with mud. Bibarel's dams are reliable and prevent rivers from overflowing. They are swift swimmers but clumsy on land. Their fur is water-repellent and retains heat. In games, Bibarel learns various moves through leveling up, evolution, breeding, and TMs. It has also appeared in the Pokémon anime and manga and is portrayed as a hardworking and dependable Pokémon. Bibarel is based on a beaver.
