Burmy (Japanese: ミノムッチ Minomucchi) is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is a small, larval Pokémon with a black segmented body and a coiled antenna on its head, resembling a bagworm. Burmy is notable for changing its cloak based on the environment of its last battle, having three forms: Plant Cloak, Sandy Cloak, and Trash Cloak. These cloaks not only protect it from the cold but also determine the second type (Grass, Ground, or Steel) of Wormadam when a female Burmy evolves. Male Burmy will evolve into Mothim. Burmy continuously collects materials to create and repair its cloak, even in barren environments. Its design is inspired by bagworms, the larvae of moths that sew together surrounding materials with their silk to form a cocoon. The name Burmy is likely a combination of 'bug', 'worm', and 'bag', with the diminutive suffix -y.
