Combee (Japanese: ミツハニー Mitsuhoney) is a dual-type Bug/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It resembles a bee composed of three hexagonal honeycomb sections, each with its own consciousness. The two upper heads have a wing and an antenna each, while the lower head has a striped abdomen. Female Combee have a red spot on their lower head, while males do not. Combee typically live in swarms, collecting nectar to produce honey and protect their queen, Vespiquen. At night, they cluster together to form a hive-like structure for sleep. Female Combee evolve into Vespiquen at level 21, while male Combee do not evolve. These social Pokémon are fiercely loyal to their queen and will protect her at all costs. Combee's design is inspired by honeycombs and bees, and its gender ratio reflects that of real bees, with more males than females.
