Shellos, known as カラナクシ in Japanese, is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is notable for having two distinct forms: the West Sea form and the East Sea form, each with different appearances. The West Sea Shellos is typically pink and white with small, spiky protrusions on its back, while the East Sea Shellos is blue and green with fin-like protrusions and white tentacles on its head. These variations are primarily due to differing habitats; West Sea Shellos is thought to be influenced by warmer ocean waters, while East Sea Shellos by colder waters. Despite their different appearances, their base capabilities remain relatively consistent. Shellos uses a sticky purple fluid as a defense mechanism, which is notoriously difficult to remove. It is a friendly Pokémon with remarkable regenerative abilities. Shellos evolves into Gastrodon starting at level 30. It lives near water bodies, its color adjusted to the quality of water it lives in. Its diet consists mainly of plankton.
