Drifloon (Japanese: フワンテ Fuwante) is a dual-type Ghost/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It resembles a purple balloon, with two small eyes and a yellow "X" mark on its face where its mouth is located. It has a small puff of cloud-like fluff on its head and two thin, stringy arms ending in yellow heart-shaped hands. Drifloon is said to be formed from the spirits of people and Pokémon and enjoys damp, humid seasons. Known as a "Signpost for Wandering Spirits," it is rumored to lead children to the afterlife by grabbing their hands. However, it is quite light and easily pulled around, and will flee if children are too rough with it. Drifloon desires companionship with children, though it has a reputation for stealing them. Its body puffs up when angry or aggressive. It is commonly seen at night, preferring damp places. In Pokémon games, Drifloon evolves into Drifblim at level 28. It can have the abilities Aftermath or Unburden, and its hidden ability is Flare Boost. Drifloon has appeared in various anime, manga, and games, often depicted as a cute yet mysterious character.
