Bonsly (Japanese: ウソハチ Usohachi) is a Rock-type Baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It resembles a bonsai tree, with a round, brown body and a club-like (♣) mark on its head. Bonsly has three yellow spots on its face, two of which surround its small black eyes. It has short legs and toeless feet, and a hole on its rear similar to a flowerpot’s drainage hole. Often mistaken for a Grass-type, its body is biologically closer to stone. Bonsly is a good mimic, often mistaken for a real bonsai, but stands out in dry environments. Its green spheres become duller as they dry out. Bonsly remains still for long periods and cries not from sadness, but to expel excess moisture. This expulsion includes sweat and tears, the sweat being salty and the tears slightly bitter. Bonsly will die if it gets too damp, and this habit also makes enemies lower their guard. It prefers dry, rocky areas, but can be found in gardens. Very young Bonsly need bottle-feeding, but mature Bonsly can eat solid food. People believe Bonsly cries in its sleep, but it is simply adjusting its fluid levels. Bonsly evolves into Sudowoodo when leveled up while knowing the move Mimic.
