Munchlax (Japanese: ゴンベ, Gonbe) is a Normal-type Baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It has a plump, teal-colored body with a cream-colored spot on its chest. Its head is round, with the top half being teal and the bottom half cream. Munchlax is known for its gluttonous nature and is very active, in contrast to its evolved form Snorlax. It consumes food equal to its body weight daily and is not picky, able to eat even rotten food. It tends to store food in its fur but often forgets about it, sometimes resulting in a foul odor. Munchlax evolves into Snorlax when leveled up with high friendship. It has appeared in various anime episodes, manga series, and games, becoming a favorite among fans. In some games, it can be found by interacting with honey trees or by breeding Snorlax. The Japanese name “Gonbe” is likely a combination of Kabigon (Snorlax) and “baby.”
