Tangrowth, known as Mojanbo in Japanese, is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It evolves from Tangela when it levels up while knowing the move Ancient Power. Tangrowth is covered in thick, shaggy vines, with only a few spots exposed. Its arms are also made of vines, ending in three magenta-colored fingers. It has stubby, magenta feet. Tangrowth's eyes are often hidden under its profuse vine growth. Tangrowth is a predatory Pokémon that binds and ensnares its prey with vines. It often pretends to be a shrub to approach prey. Despite this, Tangrowth has its own predators, but it doesn't mind being attacked due to its regenerative abilities, as its vines grow back quickly. Female Tangrowth have more magenta on their fingers than males. In warmer climates, Tangrowth's vines grow rapidly, sometimes obscuring its eyes completely. Tangrowth will tear off parts of its vines if they get too long.
