Magmortar, known as ブーバーン in Japanese, is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is the evolved form of Magmar, which in turn evolves from Magby. Magmortar resembles Magmar but is larger, with more developed cannon-like structures at the ends of its arms. These cannons can launch fireballs exceeding 3600°F (2000°C). Magmortar typically resides deep within volcanic craters, and a pair will claim an entire crater as their territory. They use their arm cannons to defend themselves by blasting flames, which can melt through iron, but they avoid this method when hunting prey. Magmortar has an organ similar to a magma chamber inside its body, which intensifies the flames when it inhales. They are sometimes used in older factories to process metals. Despite their power, Magmortar are not typically aggressive unless provoked.
