Servine (Japanese: ジャノビー Janobii) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon series. It is the evolved form of Snivy, and evolves into Serperior at level 36. Servine resembles a snake-like creature, with a predominantly green body and a cream-colored underside. It features reddish eyes, a yellow leafy collar, and a leaf-like crest on its head. Known for its swift movements and vine whip attacks, Servine is a tidy Pokémon that relies on photosynthesis and keeps itself clean for this purpose. It often utilizes foliage for camouflage and prefers sneak attacks.
Servine's design is inspired by various snakes, especially vine, tree, and green snakes, as well as legless lizards. Its evolutionary line transitions from lizard-like to more serpentine forms, incorporating elements of Western culture, particularly French royalty. Its name is a portmanteau of 'serpent' and 'vine'. Servine is a starter Pokémon that can be found throughout the series in multiple games, and it has also appeared in anime and manga adaptations. Its stats, abilities, and evolution paths make it strategically significant in battles. Its appearances across different media have made it a beloved character in the Pokémon franchise.
