Samurott (Japanese: ダイケンキ Daikenki) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It is the final evolution of the Water-type starter Pokémon, Oshawott. Samurott resembles a sea lion or river otter, with a dark blue body, cream-colored shell-like armor, and long white whiskers. Its most distinctive feature is the shell armor on its forelimbs, which house swords known as "seamitars." In battle, Samurott can draw and wield these swords at incredible speed, said to be able to attack in the blink of an eye. Samurott is known for its strong character and mastery of swordsmanship, being called a master of the "iaijutsu" sword-drawing art. Besides its regular form, Samurott also has a Shiny form and a regional form, Hisuian Samurott, which is a Water/Dark dual-type. Hisuian Samurott differs in appearance with black armor and red accents, and has a more ruthless personality, preferring to use surprise attacks and tricks to win battles. Samurott is popular among players in the Pokémon series for its power and unique design.
