Herdier (ハーデリア) is a canine Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon series, debuting in Pokémon Black and White. It evolves from Lillipup and further evolves into Stoutland. Herdier is a Normal-type Pokémon characterized by its brown body, dark blue fur, and cream-colored facial fur that forms a mustache and a three-pointed crest. It possesses large, perked ears and is known for its loyalty, intelligence, and friendly disposition. Its thick fur protects it from attacks, and it is known to be a good training partner, helping Trainers raise other Pokémon. It is theorized that Herdier was one of the first Pokémon to partner with humans. Although not particularly talented in battle, Herdier calmly observes and analyzes its opponents before launching unexpected attacks. On farms, they assist in herding and protecting livestock, while in cities, they are often kept as pets and celebrated for their loyalty. Its fur becomes increasingly springy and hard with age, but this also makes grooming more challenging.
