Pansage, known as Yanappu in Japanese, is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It resembles a small, green monkey with yellowish-khaki chin, arms, and chest, green legs and a tail with two small leaves at its tip. The insides of its ears are light green, and it has a tree-like appendage on its head with three teardrop-shaped yellowish-khaki marks. Pansage dwells in deep forests and thick woodlands, especially in warmer areas. It is known for its friendly nature, often approaching strangers and sometimes congregating around travelers. They spend much time in treetops but also search the forest floor for berries, their favorite food. Pansage is adept at finding berries and is knowledgeable about their effects. They share berries with injured Pokémon and humans, using them to cure ailments like poisoning, paralysis, and burns. They also lead hungry travelers to berry bushes and thickets. The leaves on their head contain compounds that relieve stress and tiredness. Pansage will offer a leaf to tired travelers after leading them to berry patches, revitalizing them for their journey. Pansage evolves into Simisage using a Leaf Stone.
