Pansear (Japanese: バオップ Baoppu) is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It is one of the three elemental monkeys, the other two being Pansage (Grass-type) and Panpour (Water-type). Pansear is a simian-like Pokémon with a red body and a cream-colored upper torso. It has a tuft of fur on its head that resembles a flame, which can reach temperatures of 600°F (300°C). Pansear's hands appear to lack fingers, except for a thumb. It inhabits forests and volcanic caves, and it's known to roast berries before eating them. Pansear is quite intelligent and can solve logic puzzles quickly. It evolves into Simisear when exposed to a Fire Stone. In the anime, Pansear has appeared numerous times, notably as a Pokémon owned by the Gym Leader Chili. Pansear is also a recruitable character in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. Its design is possibly based on a monkey and the "hear no evil" concept from the Three Wise Monkeys.
