Simisear, known as Baokkie (バオッキー) in Japanese, is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It is a bipedal monkey-like Pokémon, primarily fiery red in color, with yellowish tan fur on its face, belly, fingers, and toes. It has oval eyes with black pupils, a round black nose, and large, rounded ears (with orange insides). Unlike its pre-evolution, Pansear, Simisear has more hair atop its head; the red tufts of hair on its head resemble flames. Its thin arms protrude from shoulders covered in white, fluffy fur that resembles clouds of steam, alluding to its fiery, volcanic nature. It has a thick, furry red tail resembling a swirling flare of red flames. It also has a plump, rounded belly, mostly yellowish-tan; the lower part is red with a zigzag pattern separating it from the tan fur. Simisear is a hot-tempered Pokémon, easily angered. It loves to eat sweets, as the sugars fuel the fire blazing inside its belly, providing energy for battle. When distressed, embers rise from its head and tail, rapidly increasing in temperature. Simisear are also enthusiastic, often approaching foreigners with Berries as peace offerings. In artificial settings, they can grow and harvest their own Berries if instructed, but they prefer more accessible food sources, letting their crops wither. A flame burns inside Simisear's belly, fueled by sweets. It scatters embers from its head and tail to sear opponents in battle.
