Venipede (フシデ, Fushide) is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It resembles a centipede with a reddish-magenta body, a pronounced hump on its back, and black markings. Venipede uses feelers on its head and tail to sense its surroundings and is known to be brutally aggressive. Its bite is highly venomous, capable of paralyzing large bird Pokémon. Venipede will attack any prey it believes it can swallow without hesitation. It evolves into Whirlipede at level 22, and then into Scolipede at level 30. Venipede appears in various Pokémon games and has been featured in the anime, such as in 'A Venipede Stampede!' where a swarm of Venipede attacked Castelia City. Its design is likely inspired by centipedes, woodlice, or pill millipedes. In Pokémon GO, Venipede is a catchable Pokémon with an evolution line of: Venipede -> Whirlipede (25 candies) -> Scolipede (100 candies).
