Cottonee, known as Monmen in Japanese, is a dual-type Grass/Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon series. It first appeared in the Pokémon Black and White games. It resembles a ball of white cotton, with fluffy sections on its head and underside, and a green, star-shaped section on its back. Cottonee is very light and easily blown by the wind, becoming heavy only when soaked by rain. During mating season, Cottonee travel in large groups, carried by the wind. When threatened, it releases cotton from its body as a distraction to escape. The cotton is used to make high-quality pillows and beds, and when woven with Eldegoss's cotton, it creates a fabric favored by luxury brands. Cottonee evolves into Whimsicott when exposed to a Sun Stone. It has appeared in anime, manga, and various games, making it a beloved character. It is known for its cute appearance and lightweight nature.
