Carracosta (Japanese: アバゴーラ Abagoura) is a dual-type Water/Rock Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It evolves from Tirtouga starting at level 37. Carracosta is a reptilian Pokémon resembling a bipedal, blue-colored sea turtle. Its body is dark blue and light blue, and it has a giant black rocky shell on its back. It also has a scaly black covering over its face and a very small tail. It has three oval-shaped, claw-shaped markings on each of its front flippers and it has two-toed feet bearing nails colored the same as its front appendages. Carracosta is an amphibious Pokémon, spending most of its time underwater and on land. Its flippers are powerful enough to open a hole in the bottom of a tanker or knock out a foe with a single slap. Carracosta has extremely strong jaws, allowing it to eat steel frames and rocks, in addition to prey, devouring every last piece of flesh and bone. This diet allows Carracosta to develop a thick and sturdy shell. It hunts both on land and sea, often dragging land-based prey into the water.
