Zorua (Japanese: ゾロア Zorua) is a Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It was first revealed to the public on February 10, 2010, along with its evolution, Zoroark. Zorua resembles a fox cub, primarily slate gray in color with red and black accents on its head and feet. Its ears are triangular with dark insides, and it has a large tuft of red-tipped fur on top of its head. Zorua's eyes are sky blue with red eyelids and "eyebrows." It has a ruff of black fur around its neck and red-tipped limbs. Its tail is bushy. Zorua can change its physical appearance, though this is only an illusion and does not alter its type or moves. Zorua is said to have a timid nature, which led to the development of its illusion abilities. It hides its true form to ensure its safety and takes on the appearance of other Pokémon to frighten enemies. Sometimes, it will take the form of a silent child in search of food. In its movie debut, if an inexperienced Zorua takes a human form, its tail may remain visible, and touching the tail will revert it to its true form. Zorua is mischievous and loves to surprise others. In the Unova region, Zorua is a pure Dark-type, while in the Hisui region, Zorua has a regional form that is Normal/Ghost-type. Hisuian Zorua has primarily light gray fur with red and white accents and has longer, more flowing fur, giving it a melancholy appearance.
