Sawsbuck, known as Mebukijika in Japanese, is a dual-type Normal/Grass Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It evolves from Deerling starting at level 34. Sawsbuck is notable for having four different forms based on the four seasons: Spring Form, Summer Form, Autumn Form, and Winter Form. In its Spring Form, flowers adorn its antlers; in its Summer Form, leaves sprout from its antlers; in its Autumn Form, the leaves on its antlers turn red and brown; and in its Winter Form, its antlers are covered in white. The form Sawsbuck takes changes depending on the location the game is loaded in, and not by the current season. Sawsbuck's forms are purely cosmetic, and do not affect its stats or moveset. Sawsbuck is known to live in herds led by the individual with the most impressive antlers and is often referred to as a harbinger of spring due to its migratory patterns. Sawsbuck has made several appearances in the anime, showcasing its various forms.
