Karrablast (Japanese: カブルモ Kaburumo) is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It resembles a small beetle, primarily blue in color with a black head, yellow eyes, and a yellow underbelly. It has a hinge-like appendage on its back. Karrablast are often found in wetlands, but can also wander into grassy fields. When threatened, they spray acidic liquid from their mouth. Karrablast has a unique evolutionary relationship with Shelmet: when attacking Shelmet, they evolve into Escavalier when exposed to a specific type of electrical energy. Simultaneously, Shelmet evolves into Accelgor. This evolution occurs via trading, and if one holds an Everstone, neither evolves. Karrablast prey on soft-bodied mollusks, dissolving their insides with acid while leaving the shells intact. They often compete with each other for Shelmet. The name Karrablast may derive from beetles and its acidic defense mechanism.
