Alomomola (Japanese: Mamanbou) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Alomomola is a pink, fish-like Pokémon with a heart-shaped body and frilly fins. Its body is enveloped in a special membrane that can heal wounds. This Pokémon lives in open seas, and when it finds an injured Pokémon, it uses its membrane to heal it and carries it back to shore. Alomomola is also known as the 'Caring Pokémon'. Its name may derive from the scientific name for the ocean sunfish, “Mola mola,” and “mom,” reflecting its nurturing nature. The Japanese name, Mamanbou, likely comes from “manbou,” the Japanese word for ocean sunfish, and “Mama”. Despite its heart shape, Alomomola has no relation to Luvdisc. In the anime, it debuted in 'In The Shadow of Zekrom!', being the first Pokémon Ash encountered in the Unova region. Alomomola learns various moves through leveling up, breeding, and TMs. It's known for its healing abilities and aquatic adaptability.
