Galvantula, known as Dentula (デンチュラ) in Japanese, is a Bug/Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon franchise, first appearing in Pokémon Black and White. It evolves from Joltik. Galvantula resembles a large tarantula with only four legs. It has a primarily vivid yellow, rounded body with a grayish purple underbelly, stripes along its back, and deep blue tufts of fur on its sides. Galvantula uses electrically charged silk to ensnare prey, often setting traps near bird nests to catch fledgling Pokémon. It can also launch electrified hairs to paralyze its foes. Despite its menacing appearance, Galvantula is generally not aggressive unless provoked or defending its cluster. These Pokémon live in forests and caves, marking their territory with electrified webs. In the games, Galvantula evolves from Joltik at level 36. It has also appeared in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, where its unique typing and moves make it a notable choice for players.
