Cubchoo, known as Kumasyun in Japanese, is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon series, first appearing in Pokémon Black and White. It resembles a small polar bear cub, with a light blue upper body and a white lower body, rounded ears, and dark oval eyes. Cubchoo's most notable feature is its constantly running nose, with a light blue droplet of nasal mucus hanging from its black nose. This mucus is not only a physical trait but also the source of its Ice-type attacks. When Cubchoo is healthy, the mucus is thick and sticky, enhancing its Ice-type move power. Conversely, when unhealthy, the mucus becomes watery, weakening its attacks. Cubchoo sniffs back its mucus to boost power, and it may smear it on those it dislikes. It evolves into Beartic at level 37. Cubchoo is inspired by polar bear cubs and the runny nose associated with a cold, with its English name derived from a combination of 'cub' and 'achoo' (the sound of a sneeze).
