Volcarona (ウルガモス) is a dual-type Bug/Fire Pokémon introduced in Generation V of the Pokémon series. It evolves from Larvesta starting at level 59. Volcarona resembles a large moth with six fiery wings. Its body features black, white, blue, and orange sections, with blue compound eyes and red antennae on its head, white fur on its chest and back, and a segmented abdomen with light blue and black spots. Volcarona is regarded as an embodiment of the sun, with legends stating its flames replace the sun when volcanic ash darkens the sky. It is seen as a blessing in cold regions but is disliked in hot regions due to its high heat. Volcarona is known to release burning scales from its wings, capable of starting fires and even depleting the oxygen in the air. It was feared and worshiped as a fire deity in ancient times, with a shrine in Relic Castle as evidence. Volcarona is linked to Slither Wing and Iron Moth, considered to be its ancient and future counterparts, respectively.
