Fennekin, known as フォッコ in Japanese, is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI of the Pokémon series. It resembles a small, quadrupedal fox, covered in pale yellow fur with longer fur on its haunches. It has a white muzzle, longer fur on its cheeks, large dark orange eyes, and a pointed black nose. Two pointed teeth are visible in its upper jaw when its mouth is open. Tufts of dark orange fur cover the inside of its large ears. Fennekin's tail is fluffy with a dark orange tip. Hot air, reaching temperatures over 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius), vents from its ears, which it uses to intimidate opponents. It enjoys munching on twigs, which energizes it. Although sometimes temperamental, Fennekin tries its best for its Trainer. In the anime, Serena's Fennekin evolves into Braixen and then Delphox during her journey. Fennekin is one of the starter Pokémon in the Kalos region games. Its design is inspired by the fennec fox and the Japanese mythical kitsune, known for fire-breathing abilities and association with witchcraft.
