Greninja (ゲッコウガ) is a dual-type Water/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation VI of the Pokémon franchise, specifically in Pokémon X and Y. It is the final evolved form of Froakie, the Water-type starter Pokémon from the Kalos region. Greninja resembles a frog and is known for its ninja-like agility and stealth. It has a distinctive appearance, with a long pink tongue that wraps around its neck like a scarf. Greninja uses compressed water to create shurikens, which it employs with great precision and force. In the anime, Ash's Greninja can transform into a unique form known as Ash-Greninja through the Bond Phenomenon, significantly increasing its power and changing its appearance. Though the Ash-Greninja transformation is not present in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Greninja remains a popular and powerful Pokémon in competitive play, valued for its speed and versatility.
