Fletchling, known as Yayakoma in Japanese, is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It first appeared in the Pokémon X and Y games. Fletchling resembles a small robin, with a bright orange head, a mostly pale purplish-gray body, white-tipped wings, and a black and white striped tail. It's known for its friendly nature and beautiful chirping, but is also fierce in battle, relentlessly attacking intruders. Fletchling's body is always warm, and its temperature increases when it's excited or startled, potentially causing burns if touched unexpectedly. It communicates through chirps and tail-feather movements. Fletchling evolves into Fletchinder at level 17, and then into Talonflame at level 35. It and its evolutions are the only known Pokémon with the Gale Wings ability. Fletchling inhabits both rural and urban areas and is also known to be very territorial, attacking intruders. In the anime, Ash Ketchum also caught a Fletchling, which eventually evolved into Talonflame.
