Talonflame, known as Faiarō in Japanese, is a dual-type Fire/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation VI in Pokémon X and Y. It is the final evolution of Fletchling, evolving from Fletchinder at level 35. Talonflame resembles a falcon, with red-orange plumage covering its head, wings, and most of its chest and back, tapering into a flame pattern. It has orange spots resembling embers on its underbelly and legs. Its wings have black tips and a black tail with yellow stripes. Talonflame is known for its speed, capable of diving at 310 miles per hour (500 km/h) and attacking prey with powerful kicks. It primarily feeds on other bird Pokémon like Wingull and Pikipek. In battle, Talonflame showers embers from its feathers to intimidate foes. Its feathers are fireproof and were historically used for firefighter outfits. Talonflame has the abilities Flame Body and the hidden ability Gale Wings, which increases the priority of its Flying-type moves. Its design is based on the peregrine falcon, potentially incorporating traits from red kites and goshawks.
