Spewpa, known as Kofuurai in Japanese, is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI of the Pokémon series, debuting in Pokémon X and Y. It evolves from Scatterbug starting at level 9 and evolves into Vivillon at level 12. Spewpa resembles a cocoon, mostly covered in white fur with square red, black, and pale yellow patches. Its head is round with a beige triangle on top, beige eyes, and square black pupils. Spewpa has a stiff carapace that protects it from weak attacks. When threatened, it bristles its fur or sprays poisonous black powder as a defense. Typically found in the shadows of thickets, Spewpa travels to gather energy for evolution. It has appeared in both the Pokémon anime and games, and as a Poké Ball summon in the Super Smash Bros. series, where it uses Stun Spore to temporarily paralyze opponents. Spewpa's design is likely inspired by the cocoons of bagworm moth larvae.
